PV200DA – fully automatic kinematic viscometer

The PV200DA is a fully automatic kinematic viscometer for the fast determination of the kinematic
viscosity of oils. The integrated double water baths realize the measurement of the viscosity at 40 ℃ and 100℃ simultaneously, and the viscosity index is calculated automatically. The autosampler with 24 sample
positions makes a manual intervention unnecessary. The device was developed according to the ASTM
D7279 standard and is on the market since 2017. The sample injection, the measurement and the cleaning
occur fully automatically and intelligently. The device works through presetting without any supervision.

Features

  • Measurement speed:A standard measurement takes 2-3 minutes; Individual measurements within 1 minute
    possible.
  • Automation: The sample injection, the measurement, the cleaning, the drying as well as the result and
    repeatability calculation occur fully automatically. Both capillaries are able to perform the measurement, the
    cleaning and the drying procedures independently.
  • Compatibility:The device is able to analyze both colorless and colored samples, including petrol, diesel,
    kerosene, cutting fluids, additives as well as fresh and used lubricating oils.
  • Sensibility: The device no longer relies on the conventional quantification method with micropipettes, but has a
    secondary quantification function which controls the measurement conditions automatically and precisely. This
    avoids the restrictions and the deviations caused by quantification with pipettes, and ensures an accurate
    measurement result.
  • Cleaning: The intelligent cleaning function is able to select the best cleaning mode automatically based on the
    measured viscosity. The fully automatic cleaning with two types of solvents makes the cleaning more complete,
    faster, more efficient and more cost-effective. A cleaning procedure usually consumes less than 10 ml of cleaning
    fluid.
  • User friendliness: The selection of the viscometer and the sequencing of the sample injection occur
    automatically and efficiently due to the intelligent software. A manual addition, removal or prioritization of
    samples is achievable at any time. If the condition meets, the viscosity index will be calculated automatically.
  • Additional functions: The calibration of the constants, the temperature and the internal clock as well as the
    automatic conversion between the kinematic viscosity and the Engler viscosity.
  • Safety: Over temperature protection via both software and hardware; over temperature alarm; dry-burn
    protection; cleaning fluid level alarm and waste level alarm.
  • Dual water baths: The double-walled water baths ensure a homogeneous temperature distribution. One
    capillary is integrated in each water bath realizing the measurement of the viscosity at different temperatures
    simultaneously and the cleaning of the capillaries independently after the measurement. In addition, the built-in
    viscometer is quickly exchangeable without emptying the water baths.

  • Temperature control: The temperature in the water baths is precisely adjustable due to the highly sensitive
    PT100 temperature sensors. The accuracy is 0.01 ℃.
  • Signal stability: The integrated high-end fiber-optic amplifier and the packaged glass fiber using high-
    temperature technology ensure a stable and accurate signal transmission.
